About Us

Freie Universität Berlin (FU), university of excellence, was founded in 1948 under the motto "Truth, Justice, Freedom." With about 570 professors, 42,500 students in approximately 90 different programs, 4,000 graduates and 1,000 doctoral candidates each year, FU Berlin is the largest of the three universities in Berlin. As International Network University, it shows an academic profile comprising a broad range of disciplines in the humanities, social, and natural sciences. Freie Universität Berlin ranks among the nine best German universities and was awarded the title of university of excellence by the German research foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) in October 2007.

The Center for Global Politics unites four programs organized by Prof. Dr. Klaus Segbers at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of Freie Universität Berlin. These programs enable students worldwide to pursue studies or continuing education at the FU and its partners. Oriented towards the search for answers to global questions of the 21st century, the Center for Global Politics is designed for professionals and young leaders who wish to deepen their understanding of these global challenges and their political, economic and social causes and impacts. The unique programs explore international relations in Europe, including politics, economics, intercultural communication, migration, conflict management and international security. Below you can start a short film introducing you to the Center for Global Politics and its two Master's programs.
